Review: The Promise of Jenny Jones

The Promise of Jenny Jones The Promise of Jenny Jones by Maggie Osborne
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Life has not been easy for Jenny Jones. She escapes death by Mexican firing squad by promising to escort a child to California. Lots of danger along the way. She meets up with the child's uncle and together they try to survive shoot outs and train explosions and knife fights and falling in love.

There are parts that are too unbelievable to be logical - I don't know too many 6 year olds who can sew pillows, much less stitch human flesh. I've found that authors often either make children too childish or too adult, but never get age appropriate behavior quite right.

All in all this is a good read. Enough excitement to keep you interested by not so much as to be overdone.
